MICHELLE SCRAGG
Michelle Scragg was born in Glasgow in 1963. She trained at Glasgow School of Art where she won a mayor prize for her drawing. Postgraduate studies followed at Winchester School of Art. She soon became a successful designer, designing scarves and fabrics for Liberty in London. However painting was always her first love and she left this career to concentrate full time on her painting.

Michelle Scragg has travelled widely and exhibited her work across the UK and abroad, establishing her reputation as a talented watercolourist. In 1993 she spent several months painting and travelling around Malaysia and saw her work selected for the Hunting/Observer Art Prizes. Her Malaysian work was later exhibited as a solo exhibition at Piano Nobile, London. She still maintains her link with Scotland showing at several Scottish galleries.

In 1996 she moved to Swansea and has brought her excitable eye for colour to bear on the South Wales landscape and culture, bringing it to life in her own unique way.

Her work reveals an excitable eye for colour. For the past few years she has lived in Swansea and her paintings now bring to life the local landscape and culture.
