NIKKI CASS

Nikki Cass was born in London in 1959. She studied Architectural Glass at Swansea Institute.

Since graduating in 1990 her commissions have included a diverse range of large and small scale projects. These include cast and fused glass sculptures for clients in Iowa and Atlanta, U.S.A., a series of wall-mounted works commissioned for Morgans Hotel, Swansea, work in Singleton and Broomfield Hospitals, glass tiles for a kitchen splash-back and collaborations with primary school pupils when working as an artist in residence. She was commissioned by the Swansea Festival for Music and the Arts, through Attic Gallery, to create a glass panel for their 2004 festival programme cover.

Nikki Cass also works to a smaller scale exhibiting her glass compositions in galleries around Britain. She develops new work through painting, drawing and printmaking. Of her work she says "My work is currently based on the exploration of natural and urban landscape. Bold abstract colours, expressive paint-marks and related forms are built up like layers of time".
