Swansea Print Workshop
Exhibition: 8th - 29th March 2003

This exhibition celebrates the Swansea Print Workshop and the artists who use its facilities.

The workshop opened in 1998 with the intention of providing much needed professional and drawing facilities in the Swansea area. With the aid of a lottery grant, their premises in Clarence Street at the edge of the city centre, has recently been refurbished. The project is now slowly but surely realising its potential as a major contributor to the visual arts in South Wales.

The studio offers printmaking facilities to professional artists and also promotes and encourages community participation in the arts. A range of technical processes are offered including etching, relief printing and screenprinting. They also have a dedicated life drawing studio in which classes are regularly held.

The current exhibition presents work produced by the tutors themselves, together with work we have selected from those who use the studio, many of whom are arts professionals. Much of the work has been produced especially for this exhibition.
