TREVOR PRICE

Trevor Price gained a BA (Hons) in Fine Art/Printmaking at the Winchester School of Art (1985-1988) and in 1995 was elected as an Associate Member of the Royal Society of Painter-Printmakers (ARE).

His figurative works take as their influence the dynamics between men and women. The narrative, humorous and often erotic and occasionally ridiculous images being shown become a reflection of all our lives. One drypoint entitled "everyone thinking about sex, everywhere" perhaps demonstrates this best.

There is another very different aspect of his work - his abstract prints, with their strong clear colours and sometimes geometric form, leads the viewer in quite a different direction.

His exhibitions include: the Open Print Exhibition of the Royal Society of Painter-Printmakers (London 1988, 1991, 1992); the Royal West of England Academy Open Print Exhibition (Bristol, 1994,1997); the National Print Exhibition at the Mall Galleries (London 1995, 1996, 1997); the Zella Gallery (London, solo show in 1996, and 1998); Christies Contemporary Arts, Bath (May 1997, solo show, and two-person shows in 1994 and 1995): Attic Gallery two-person show 2002.

In 1993, some of Trevor's images were selected to illustrate the Encyclopaedia of Printmaking Techniques, published by Headline; and in 1994 P&O commissioned an exclusive limited edition of three of his etchings for the Mediterranean cruise ship Oriana.

At the 1997 National Print Exhibition, the Mall Galleries, London, Trevor was awarded both the Zenith Purchase Prize and the "Printmaking Today" Award.
