This year the gallery has an exciting programme of exhibitions of new work from both established and emerging artists. In between the listed exhibitions we will be holding mixed shows with work from all our other artists. As the year progresses we will continue to update this section.

We have archived our previous years programme as a useful source of information about the artists and their work.

19th February - 11th March

Chris Griffin and Mike Jones

Two Welsh artists inspired by the landscape and people of the South Wales mining valleys. Chris Griffin uses the terraced houses and streets as a starting point for his colourful and at times almost abstract paintings. Mike Jones is inspired by both the people and landscape and finds mood and atmosphere in the simplest of subjects.

18th March - 8th April

Valerie Ganz

A distinguished Swansea born artist who made her reputation going where almost no woman had been before - down the Welsh pits. An accomplished artist she will have been found painting for this exhibition at a jazz club in Havana, beside the ring at the Moscow State Circus and most recently of all on the touch line at St Helen’s Rugby Ground in Swansea.

15th April - 6th May

Elizabeth Brickell and Nick Holly

Elizabeth Brickell’s collages make references to Wales’ Celtic past and the ancient brooding atmosphere that can still be felt in some of Wales’s isolated places. Nick Holly takes his inspiration from the industrial townscape of the east side of Swansea where he still lives and where terraced houses hang precariously on the side of Kilvey Hill.

20th May - 8th July

Spring into Summer

The gallery represents over 50 artists. Each artist has been invited to provide new work for our early summer mixed exhibition of paintings, prints, sculpture and ceramics. This is an excellent time to visit the gallery to see the range and quality of the work that is available at the gallery.

15th July - 5th August

Gareth Thomas

Enthusiastic collectors of his work eagerly await Swansea born Gareth Thomas' biannual one-man exhibitions at this gallery. He first established his reputation with his sensitive water-colour paintings of the South Wales coast. The Gower coastline still features in his work and for this exhibition he has also been working in Provence and Venice. This exhibition also sees his work heading in a new direction with the inclusion of his still life paintings for the very first time.

9th September - 30th September

Gwilym Prichard and Claudia Williams

This husband and wife team are each distinguished artists in their own right. Prichard is one of Wales' most important landscape painters while Williams' work reflects her interest in the figure, painting people and family groups. This major exhibition will mostly feature Prichard's work. They exhibit successfully in France, working from their Brittany studio, as well as the UK.

Wilfred Roberts

Born in North Wales, Wilfred Roberts spent the first part of his career lecturing in art in London where he also successfully exhibited his own work. He returned to Anglesey for some years and, following his retirement, he turned to painting full time. His inspiration is from the rugged beauty of his surroundings and he is establishing himself as one of the best landscape artists in North Wales. This will be his first solo show at this gallery.
