This will be a particularly
busy year for the gallery with solo and two-artist exhibitions

will update this section as exhibition dates are confirmed
and images of the new work become available.

Wales' most respected artists, each of whom has recently held
critically acclaimed shows.

colourist who was tutored by Ceri Richards. She was one of
the first artists to exhibit at the Attic, with an exhibition
here in 1963.
Clive Hicks-Jenkins' recent solo
exhibitions at the Museum of Modern Art Wales, Newport Museum
& Art Gallery and Christ Church Picture Gallery in Oxford
have attracted enthusiastic reviews in Art Review, Modern
Painters and The Independent.

Vivienne Williams
Vivienne Williams has
been quietly building up a reputation as a significant artist
on the Welsh art scene with regular solo shows in both Swansea
and Cardiff over the past decade. Her quiet meditative paintings
exude a quality that has attracted both collectors and artists
alike.
4th June -
25th June
David Carpanini
David
Carpanini is considered a significant painter and influential
printmaker not only on the Welsh but also the British art
scene. His meticulous work, routinely selected for the Royal
Academy Summer Show, is mainly devoted to the presentation
of the industrial valleys of South Wales and its people. This
major show, almost four years in the preparation, will feature
over ninety paintings, drawings and original prints.
2nd July - 20th August
Summer Group Exhibition
This
is a regular mixed exhibition and a chance for all our artists
to
exhibit their latest work
27th August - 17th September
Aneurin Jones and Donald McIntyre
We
have brought together two of Wales' most distinguished artists
for their first exhibition together.
Born in Cardigan, Aneurin Jones
is best known for his timeless depiction of West Wales farmers
whether at work, the market or on the showground.
Donald McIntyre is an established
landscape painter. Based in North Wales the work of this modest
man had been overlooked by many. This is no longer the case.
He is increasingly being regarded as an important colourist,
and the demand for his work has responded accordingly.
24th September - 15th October
Wilf Roberts
Wilf
Roberts was born on the Isle of Anglesey in North Wales where
he lives and works. On leaving school he studied at Croydon
Art College and successfully exhibited his work in solo and
mixed shows both in South London and the West End.
In 1974 he returned
to live on Anglesey and did not exhibit publicly for many
years. However, since his retirement in 1996 he has painted
full time. A number of successful solo shows have followed,
and he has seen his reputation grow. He is now regarded as
one of the finest, individualistic landscape artists currently
working in North Wales.
22nd October - 12th November
Valerie Ganz
Valerie Ganz was born
in Swansea. She attended Swansea College of Art and studied
painting, sculpture and stained glass. She remained as a tutor
until 1973 when she turned her attention to painting full
time. As her interest in the landscape of South Wales grew,
her attention was drawn to the landscape of industrial areas
and, in particular, the mining industry.
Her considerable reputation is based on the work she undertook
at Six Bells and later Tower Colliery. However this forms
only part of her oeuvre. Recent subjects she has tackled with
her usual energy include, jazz musician at Brecon Jazz, the
prisoners in Swansea prison and the clubbers in the nightclubs
of Swansea.
