While we will still be showing the work of our established artists, this year our exhibition programme includes a number of artists who are relatively new to the gallery and will be holding their first exhibitions here.

As the year progresses we will update this section as exhibition dates are confirmed and images of the new work become available.

17th January - 4th March

Winter Group Exhibition

This group exhibition is being re-launched with additional new work from the featured artists. This is a continually changing exhibition which will display paintings, graphics, sculpture, stained glass from all the artists the gallery represents.

11th March - 1st April

David Randal Davies and Nick Holly

David Randal Davies is an established Gower based artist and former art teacher who has won several national prizes for his work.

Nick Holly's work is primarily based around his community in the Eastside of Swansea. The demand for his work extends well beyond the boundaries of his city.

8th April - 29th April

Robert Harrison, Jonathan Taylor
and Gareth Thomas

Gower Paintings

Each of these established landscape artists takes as their theme for this exhibition the first designated "Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty" in the UK.

6th May - 27th May

Karen Pearce and Paul Woodford

Karen Pearce achieved early success with her work, seeing it published nationally through the Art Group. She later formalised her training, achieving an MA in Fine Art in 2003. Her current paintings are inspired by the landscape around her home in Aberystwyth.

Paul Woodford is also an established artist whose work is landscape based, but by using layers of paper and paint he achieves a distinctive effect.

3rd June - 24th June

Ceri Barclay and Sarah Young

Ceri Barclay was born in Tonypandy and became a member of the 'Rhondda Artists Group' in the late 1950's. Much of his work is based on the South Wales Industrial Valleys.

Sarah Young's will be having her first exhibition in the gallery. She graduated in Fine Art in 1995. The work of this young artist is inspired not just by the landscape around her home in northern Pembrokeshire but by the stories passed down by her family and the people in her Welsh speaking community.

1st July - 23rd September

Summer Group Exhibition

Attic Gallery’s Summer Group Show is a good time to visit the gallery because there will be new work on display from over 50 artists – all represented by the gallery. Most of these artists live and work in Wales so the paintings on display are very much about the people and the landscape of the Principality. As it is a rotating show, new work will be brought in throughout the exhibition, so there will always be something new to see.

30th September - 21st October

Warren Williams

This will be the talented young artist’s second solo show in the gallery. For the exhibition, he has produced a series of paintings which are shown alongside his drawings. Created over a period of eighteen months, his subject is himself, his family and friends.

28th October - 18th November

Chris Griffin and Mike Jones

The constant source of Chris Griffin's paintings are the South Wales industrial Valleys. His landscape paintings have received a number of major national prizes.

Mike Jones is inspired not just by the landscape but the people in his Swansea Valley community. This will be his third exhibition in the gallery.

25th November - 23rd December
