My first encounter with printmaking was at Swansea College of Art (1959-63), where I combined courses in stained glass and lithography. Following graduation, I taught art for 35 years and printmaking in a variety of techniques became a strong element in my syllabus.

The technique I have favoured over the years has been lino-printing but since retiring in 1998 I have continued to experiment with intaglio and woodcut printing and am also eager to work with collagraph and wood engraving.

Much of my work to date has relied strongly on decorative design and pattern. Though currently I am developing themes connected with landscape and images from literature as may be found in the works of Dylan Thomas, R.S.Thomas and other Welsh writers.
