Gareth Parry
Gareth Parry was born in Blaenau Ffestiniog in 1951 into a family with close working connections to the quarry industry. He studied at Manchester School of Art but got “fed up with it all” before he completed the course. After 3 years or working as a quarryman he decided to “paint again”. In 2001 he had a major exhibition at the National Library of Wales where they purchased several paintings for the national collection, and in 2006 he was elected to the Royal Cambrian Academy.
